Week 3

We had a good week here!! The work has been challenging for sure, but things are coming along. We spend a lot of time working in the family history center here at thenchurch, it is kind of like our little office. But we also get out and contact people on the streets, just talk to strangers, make friends, and talk about the gospel, for an hour or 2 most days. That is usually a favorite part of the day. People here in Costa Rica are very kind and humble and willing to talk with us, which has been a blessing. We are finding a lot of people to teach, the problem is taking the next steps is really tough. People change phone numbers, stop paying phone bills, have encrypted addresses that sounds something like - ten steps past pizza hut, over the hill on the left, then the 3rd house after walking about a mile on the right. So they are impossible to find. And it seems like everyone's address revolves around stinking pizza hut haha. So most contact has to be over the phone considering that and covid fears, but the work is coming along. Had some first experiences with the busses here this week. Not as crazy as I had worried they'd be, but instantly make you car sick haha. Been all around the area and seen some incredible parts of costa rica. This place is gorgeous. Scripture for the week... And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people. 8 And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning Love to be here working for the savior!! Week 100 of my Mission

Not too many of these left! For all those who have stuck around until now (I think it is week 100 of my mission) thanks for all the support. Exotic fruit season has hit new highs. Mammonchino. Fuzzy little red balls with a grape (more or less) on the inside. Way too cheap. And everyone suddenly seems to have truck full of them on every corner. So life has been good. This week had some hilarious experiences with some of our buds from the streets. Someone started chasing me, slowly but surely, and yelled over and over "what are your country!?!" We could feel the frustration boiling up with him. Not sure if he was mad that his English wasn't all the way there, or possibly that I declined to say what were my country. Either way definitely a memorable moment.
