Week 5

This is a last second email. There are 10 minutes left in p day and I am barely getting to this. Had a disaster of a hike in the jungle and our Uber didn't come haha. But got a new companion from Honduras, fewer gringos in site than last transfer, so literally will not be speaking English from here on out besides with my family. But he loves basketball and wants to work hard. A good combination for a companion. Wanted to share these scriptures... 6 Ahora bien, tal vez pienses que esto es locura de mi parte; mas he aquí, te digo que por medio de cosas pequeñas y sencillas se realizan grandes cosas; y en muchos casos, los pequeños medios confunden a los sabios By small and simple things great things are brought to pass. Grateful for this scripture and for the little things, and the people, that have really allowed this scripture to have a special meaning in my life. The day to day grind of missionary work is small and simple, and the rewards are great. Didn't even have time to download the book of Mormón in English haha. Alma 37:6. Elder Easton

Week 100 of my Mission

Not too many of these left! For all those who have stuck around until now (I think it is week 100 of my mission) thanks for all the support. Exotic fruit season has hit new highs. Mammonchino. Fuzzy little red balls with a grape (more or less) on the inside. Way too cheap. And everyone suddenly seems to have truck full of them on every corner. So life has been good. This week had some hilarious experiences with some of our buds from the streets. Someone started chasing me, slowly but surely, and yelled over and over "what are your country!?!" We could feel the frustration boiling up with him. Not sure if he was mad that his English wasn't all the way there, or possibly that I declined to say what were my country. Either way definitely a memorable moment.
