Week 8
Hope you have all had an week!! I have some exciting news...
Summer hit early this year!! We had been told that the heavy rain cojtinue all the way thru January, and this week we had sunny afternoons just about every day. Although it still rained at one point every day, it was the first first since being here in the Costa Rica that we have actually had sunny days and it was awesome.
Spent a lot of time walking from one neighborhood to the next, our city is composed of a bunch of small neighborhoods, so we go looking for the members at their mysterious addresses, and they always have friends over. And the Costa Rican culture is just to invite us in, so we find a bunch of people to teach just showing up announced at the members houses, and it is a bunch of fun.
Last week we got to go for a hike around a private waterfall with some cliff jumping spots, so I will definitely be coming back there next summer. And then today my comp went and climbed a huge mountain. We didn't make it to the top because if started raining, but rumor has it you can see Nicaragua from up there. The view was awesome either way. And played some Mehenga with a family we are teaching, which is just soccer on a mini field. Got the full Costa Rican cultural experience capped off when i went and bought a jersey from the national soccer club, for 3 dollars. Diecisi.
This week we had some awesome lessons. We had some great lessons with a family we have been teaching for a while about the restoration of the gospel and eternal families. One of the greatest blessings of the savior restored church is the priesthood power that allows families to be together forever. Such a powerful truth, and and in my life. A blessing that all can partake of, and thru our Savior and his power, it can be reality.
Loving it here in Costa Rica!! Hope you all are doing well!
