Week 11

Happy Monday!! Hope you are all doing well, we had a crazy week here! Just about everyone we are teaching texted us and asked us not to come back or got baptized. Two very different extremes. Looking on the brightside, we had 2 baptisms!! Both Raziel and Bernal who are each about 15 got baptized, so teaching and getting to know them was a really fun experience. I was able to perform the baptism and confirmation of raziel and my companion did the same for bernal. Afterwards Raziel shared how he had never before felt the way he did. Such a special day. However a baptism here in Costa Rica would not be complete without something go crazy wrong. We filled the font more than i have ever seen a font filled before so it would be nice and easy... turns out too much water meant the water pressure went up... water pressure going up meant the drain broke... drain broke meant between the service start at 11, and us entering the water at 11:20, the font was nearly empty. So we had to do the baptism from our knees, and raziel laid down completely in the water. A baptism is a baptism of course, but an unforgettable moment as well! We were really able to see some miracles with that, so special to see how their families, that already had other members, came a little bit closer when they took the step and followed the saviors example!! Other than that, it rained for the first few days of the week without stopping for a second. We keep hearing by next week the rain will be gone, but we have been hearing that for about 6 weeks now haha. Had a drunk guy yell at us a bunch late one night about coffee while we walked home! Slightly seemed like he would want to fight. Struck a deal with soda la cosecha, they load us up for like 3 bucks a day and it is incredible. Loving it. Hung some Christmas lights for the bishop, Christmas vacation moment. Not seen in this photo is a bee hive neer the wall. Christmas lights, a wobbly ladder, bee hives, and of course some rain make an adventure for sure haha. Have an awesome week! Elder Easton

Week 100 of my Mission

Not too many of these left! For all those who have stuck around until now (I think it is week 100 of my mission) thanks for all the support. Exotic fruit season has hit new highs. Mammonchino. Fuzzy little red balls with a grape (more or less) on the inside. Way too cheap. And everyone suddenly seems to have truck full of them on every corner. So life has been good. This week had some hilarious experiences with some of our buds from the streets. Someone started chasing me, slowly but surely, and yelled over and over "what are your country!?!" We could feel the frustration boiling up with him. Not sure if he was mad that his English wasn't all the way there, or possibly that I declined to say what were my country. Either way definitely a memorable moment.
