Week 11

Happy Wednesday! Things have been great here as far as the missionary work goes. Aside from that it was one long week. Our preparation day got moved to today so we can go to the temple, and I never expected so much would happen in our 9 day week. Had a leadership conference last Wednesday. Special experience. Last one of the mission, and a super spiritual experience. Lots of trainings about focusing on our purpose and raising expectations. Good time to reflect on how I leave it all on the table in these last few days out here. Wednesday night headed on exchanges to heredia. Some members gave us a pretty traditional Costa Rican soup called Olla de carne. Usually all good. But just for a few more good stories to finish off the mission made me sick for days. Really the first time in the mission I had gotten sick. Made it so far but the luck ran out. Good weekend, gave a talk in church for the last time. Spoke about how there is so much more to being a faithful member of the church than knowing the truth. We need to be truly converted to the savior and his gospel and allow him to change us. On Tuesday the rains came down and the floods came up. And the missionaries in Tejarcillos just about washed away. Had mentioned to my comp we needed to get nice and soaked one last time before the end. Wish fulfilled. Made it home ready for a hot shower when we didn't have water. Still hoping for that to come back. Thru all the craziness of the week beyond grateful to be here. Really nothing like being a missionary. 26 And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved. See you all in a week! Week 100 of my Mission

Not too many of these left! For all those who have stuck around until now (I think it is week 100 of my mission) thanks for all the support. Exotic fruit season has hit new highs. Mammonchino. Fuzzy little red balls with a grape (more or less) on the inside. Way too cheap. And everyone suddenly seems to have truck full of them on every corner. So life has been good. This week had some hilarious experiences with some of our buds from the streets. Someone started chasing me, slowly but surely, and yelled over and over "what are your country!?!" We could feel the frustration boiling up with him. Not sure if he was mad that his English wasn't all the way there, or possibly that I declined to say what were my country. Either way definitely a memorable moment.
